About Us

The Lakeshore Resort and Campground is the largest campground in the Columbia Valley located on the pristine shores of Lake Windermere, British Columbia.

Ideally located a few short kilometres north of Fairmont Hot Springs, B.C. and 6 kilometres south of Windermere, B.C., the Lakeshore Resort and Campground is 100% owned and operated by the –akis“nuk First Nation.

In operation for more than 30 years, the Lakeshore Resort and Campground is a strong component of the regional tourism economy in the Columbia Valley, and is an active stakeholder in the Indigenous Tourism BC, Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, as well as being an active member of the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Radium Hot Springs Tourism.

In both 2013 and 2014,  Lakeshore Resort and Campground was nominated for a Columbia Valley Business Excellence Award — where it placed in the top five in the tourism category — as well as being nominated for a BC Aboriginal Business Award.  In 2015 Lakeshore Resort and Campground received the Outstanding Achievement Award from BC Achievement Foundation for community owned Aboriginal business along with receiving the Business Excellence Award in Hospitality and Tourism from Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Several recent additions have enhanced visitor experience. These include the new Legacy Hall — an 1800 square foot open air, roofed, gathering place available for weddings, reunions, and other public and private functions and built by youth from the –akis“nuk First Nation — and the addition of two playgrounds for children.  Since the building of Legacy Hall, there has been several outdoor weddings that have taken place at Lakeshore Resort and Campground.
